Mashing: It’s like massage, but with your feet instead of your hands. Yup, it’s weird with someone walking on your hamstrings, but, hey, it’s less intense than an elbow digging into a knot! Think of rolling out, but in reverse. Mashing pressure is broad, not poke-y, plus you get the healing magic of human-to-human contact. Learn the basic how-tos, and practice communicating to your bud. (“Yikes! Less pressure there! Ooh, ooh, good spot!”) Bring a pal, or make a friend there and take them into full-blown parasympathetic mode, move their lymph and blood flow, and start to release their fascia — and then we will switch partners!. Also, we get to incorporate some Chinese medicine mapping to guide our mash.
